AMD Increases GPU Production Because of High Demand

As the cryptocurrency get more and more popular, the number of cryptocurrency miners increase everyday. If you are interested in mining and could not find the GPU you need, that’s because everyone else bought all of the GPUs in the market. Now one of the biggest brands in the GPU industry, AMD, is increasing the GPU production because of the pretty visibile high demand.  The revenue from the company’s Graphics Division has reached almost a billion dollars in the last quarter of 2017. Recognizing the shortages, AMD is trying to satisfy both gamers and miners.

The CEO of AMD, Lisa Su told, “We are ramping up production.” She presented the latest corporate earnings report and showed the cryptocurrency mining market is a good part of AMD’s business. Advanced Micro Devices has announced $1.48 billion USD of revenue in the fourth quarter of 2017. $958 million of that total came from its Computing and Graphics division, where the year-on-year increase reached 60%. Sales of graphics cards, like the new Vega 56 and Vega 64, have been a key factor.

What do you think about the demand for cryptocurrency mining devices? Is it going to grow in 2018? Tell us what you think & comment below.
